Aircraft Enthusiast Tours
Are you a keen aviation enthusiast? Would you like to see many gliders from Europe that you probably will never get the chance to see again?
If your answer to both these questions is YES, then you'll be absolutely delighted to hear that for the duration of the 19th FAI European Gliding Championships at Lasham between the 10th and 26th August, we will be running aircraft enthusiast tours.
Each tour will begin at 10am daily, where you will first meet your guide, who will then drive you around the Lasham Competition Grid. There you will be able to observe and record the gliders flown by Europe's top glider pilots.
The numbers for each tour will be strictly limited, so book early with the Lasham Office at email@example.com to avoid disappointment, each tour will cost £5.00 per head to be paid on the day.
After your tour why not stay around and enjoy the Lasham Clubhouse restaurant and bar, from where you will be able to observe the day's activities.
In the afternoon, once all the competition gliders have launched on task, but before they come back, we will be running tours of the Gliding Heritage Centre. Here you will be able to see the largest collection of vintage gliders in the United Kingdom. These tours will cost an additional £5.00, and will be run on an informal basis.
The proceeds from both sets of tours will be split 50/50 between The Lasham Trust and The Gliding Heritage Centre.
About the Lasham Trust
The aim of the Lasham Trust is 'Making Lasham even better' by way of funding things that the normal Lasham finances wouldn't, for example the K13 cabriolet canopy, the information boards for visitors, and the big TV screen in the canteen.
About the Gliding Heritage Centre
The primary aim of the Gliding Heritage Centre is to preserve our British gliding heritage and make it accessible to the public. It is an educational resource where visitors can learn about the history of gliding and the more general aspects of gliding as a sport.
